The Agribusiness Committee
Chaired by Hans Gutbrod. One committee, and it is the one their committees page answers with. A Tourism Committee appears in their own diary and its page was not reachable, so it is named here only where they name it and nothing is written about what it does.
The Committee is made up of AmCham members in the food growing and processing sector as well as the large corporate consumer like retailers, restaurants and hotels and some of the development organizations working to improve the sector.
Our goal is to facilitate discussion between the private sector, governments and NGOs on developments in the sector.

- Reviewing the country’s strategy document for the agriculture sector and taking part in forming Georgia’s general vision for the sector’s development
- Identifying the gaps in the legislation related to agribusiness and helping to streamline the legal framework
- The business field aspects: banking, insurance, partner and market seeking
The committee also follows quality of agricultural products, contractual mechanisms between farmers and businesses, logistics of getting products to market, economies of scale in agricultural production, communication between businesses and farmers, and educational issues for farmers and distributors.
